What can I say? My friend Jay came to stay with me for a while. He knew I was into df editing, but he'd never played df himself. He was so impressed with what I showed him (Dark Tide I and II, and AoNS ) that he decided to try his hand at making his own level. This is the result.
He also started a sequel, but unfortunately he went back home today, so that may never see proper release.
In fairness his one goal was to make a level better than mines, and I reckon he succeeded.
Ok enough of defending my friend.
If I wasn't biased I'd say this level is a waste of time, but I think for a first effort and the result of only 2 hours work, without ever having played df (he watched me play) it's not too bad.
I give it 9/10 (just so I don't appear biased )

And it's got:

okay... sounds bad, but,...
NO square rooms?

Yep... not one square to be found in the entire place
The level looked decent enough for never having played DF or edited before.

The title alone gives it a 9/10!

Jay had toyed with the idea of calling it 'The Dark Tide III' just for a joke, and the plot was originally thus:
You are Greedo, you must journey to Hoth where you meet the Emperor who accuses you of stealing . That was as far as we got.

The Dark Tide III? silly silly... well, hopefully nobody would confuse it with the much more epic "The Dark Tide: Episode III- Eye of the Empire."
ANYwho, yes, the goal of making a levvel better than Mines was more than accomplished, and, with just two hours of editing and virtually no gaming experience, I certainly must applaud the author on his efforts!
And no square rooms! That's just amazing (and it's rather sad that such can be considered "amazing"). Even with its title, its texturing and its formidable use of Boba Fett, I shall always remember this as "The One with No Square Rooms."

I don't think Mines had any square room? It did have a near-perfect round room.
Not counting the wdfuse default sectors.
Jedi Cheddar wrote:
I don't think so either japh, but how can you make a square room with only 7 or so sectors. Surely there aren't even enough sectors to do that

??? I can make a square room with one sector.

Yeah, I've done it before... one sector with four vertices.

And don't forget 4 walls

Ahh, yes, I remember this one, It was pretty crappy, with a great name though, it kinda reminds me of the several Matthew_Horrax levels I ever bothered to play.
In other words, not great.
