The good news?
We have FOUR, count 'em FOUR (4) [IV], new GOB files in the upload folder:

allince.gob
anewhope.gob
bunny.gob
yodas2.gob

The not-so-good news?
They've all been submitted anonymously.

Ergo, my question is: WHODUNIT?!

Hmmm... still no clue as to whodunit (or, more precisely, whogonedunanduploadedthese). I have a hunch it was Mrs. Peacock in the dining room with the wrench, but I could be wrong. I'll give the author another day to speak up.

I've played the bunch of them and must say that Bunny is very much in the vein of Coober (ā la LACDS)... they're all very fun to play.

Alright, so all that I know about the author is that he or she A) has a bunny, which provided the design for the level of the same name, and, well, B) has now authored at least six levels: in addition to Bunny, Alliance (the name's been corrected in a newly uploaded ZIP file) and A New Hope, there's also now Courascant (sp), Doom and Empire.

The author doesn't seem to want to be identified old skool frown SOOOO I'm leaning towards releasing the pack of six (not quite a six-pack; that's another thing or two entirely!) as, say, "The Anonymously Submitted Funpack."

EDIT: Anonymous, your "Doom" is a blatantly unauthorized modification of japh's demo of the same name. Also, your "Empire" is another unwelcome reworking of "Imperial Residence"... if you'd like me to take you seriously (i.e. actually post your work), you should not do this again.

(Wow, that sounded terribly uptight of me... but do I still mean it.)

By the sounds of the gob names and the fact that 6 were uploaded apperently by the same author, I honestly can't believe they can be THAT fun Wink Very Happy Wink

If no one takes credit, I will just to say that I am not just a lazy editor and am actually doing something (even though the level might be 2 seconds worth of work) Wink Very Happy Wink

PS. I won't take credit for the remakes. That is just wrong.

Use the front page. The guy probably doesn't read the forums. We don't post enough news on the front page anyway...

Agh! Now my title isn't as unique any more... Curses to you! I now wish I could change my title, so then I'd permanently trump you "Kell Dragon" rank with something like "Postmaster" Razz

Well, I suspect that one's awareness level will be diminished by roughly the same ammount after going through either... (Of course, people react to things like these in different ways)

Brilliant idea!

...Wait a minute, isn't it you who's supposed to be taking care of things like this? Wink

Jackson, does the upload script log IP addresses? Perhaps a bit late to ask now, of course...

What he said! Very Happy
However, the author really doesn't seem to want to be identified, so I don't think IP checking'll be a route I'd take.

I suspect that Seņor Anonymous might just be joking around... I mean, the gob inside "Courascant.zip" is misspelled as "crousant," which itself is a misspelling of "croissant," a rich, crescent-shaped roll of leavened dough or puff pastry -- thank you, dictionary dot com.

Of course, that mission itself is merely the original Secret Base mission with a few alternate characters (ewoks, Tatooine 3dos in place of mousebots, an A-Wing instead of the Crow, etc.) and with the starting point on the roof.

Aw, the heck with it!

Here are the four legitimately original missions from anonymous:

Alliance.zip
ANewHope.zip
Bunny.zip
Courascant.zip

What with no author and the, um, erratic editing of these levels -- Alliance and Courascant are essentially the same mission / two others, Doom and Empire, are blatant remakes of existing levels -- I'm not sure if I'll keep these zips permanently available... I'll let you guys (the DF community) help to judge that.

(Broken links? More remade-level hijinks? Anything else that rhymes with "-inks"? Let me know.)

Enjoy!

I still do think that the upload script should log IP addresses... After all, every one of our posts is logged in the very same way! (For instance, a quick look at my IP posting reccord shows a serious trend toward a specific bank of fixed-IP computers, where some 80% of my posts are from)

Later, once I have more time, I'll download those levels and add them to my DF collection... I have many strange and wondrous things there (more of them strange than wondrous, though...)

No author, no posting. And therefore no ranking.
