Where are the textures for the HUD stored? I'm planning on maybe modifying them for my upcoming level.
Also, about the numbers on the HUD: do they have their own texture, or are they a font used in other places in DF?

In the textures.gob if you plan on changing the font color or the shield and health bars I can't help you there

You can change the numbers too. They're just bitmaps so you can convert them and edit them or adjust the palette and convert them back.

By the way, are the textures for the "main menu" thingy in the textures.gob too? That would be a good thing to customize . . .

I forget where they are. They're either FONT (LFD) or FNT (GOB) files. Menu fonts might be in one of the LFDs, probably not in DFBRIEF.LFD though.

There are different fonts for all the text in the game, apart from static text that never changes (IE: briefing text, UI buttons, textcrawl).
