I haven't touched WDFUSE in maybe 5 years. Somehow I still remember the basics because I slapped together a 450mhz AMD K6-3 with Win98 and WDFUSE (a carbon copy of my old setup I used to have) and I'm moving sectors and verticies around and stuff.

Give me a week I'll remember all this again and maybe make something small. I had originally made a few levels but never released them, and a whole slew of weapons but only released one (it's in the downloads page under H-13a Trooper Scooper)

I've lost all my custom textures and FME's, all my sounds (where's Resnick?) but I vaguely remember how to make them all again, I suppose I'll be able to fumble through it again and produce something.

couple of issues I'm having

The first door all the surrounding floor textures need to be rotated 90 degrees, I forgot how to do that.

There is an example in the original DF level Fuel Station. Large room where the floor rotates around a central pillar to give access to 4 new rooms at 0 / 90 / 180 / 270 degrees. You can load the level in Wdfuse and have a look at it.

I'll try that later today.

My level is coming along pretty good so far, don't know what I'll call it but I have an objective for it similar to Arc Hammer. I'll have to learn how to make custom textures again, which I vaguely remember but it will all come back to me, everything in WDFuse just about did.

That can't be done unfortunately. The rotating platform in Fuel Station Ergo has a grey fill as a texture so that the non-rotation of the floor is not noticeable.

If texture rotations are stored as DarkXL specific data (in a form ignored by Dark Forces) then it would be possible to have the textures rotated in DarkXL but unrotated in Dark Forces. This is assuming that compatibility is a concern.

Couldn't you just lay a 3DO over the floor and rotate it with a VUE? Not that I would, but still.

You could but 3dos as floors tend to be ugly. Plus if you use the 'plane' fill for the polygons they won't appear to rotate.
