I've moved this thread over to a more appropriate forum (namely, Levels & Editing).
Also, for the future, I'd recommend posting only one thread (in one forum) on the same topic... you made two beta tester requests in two different forums when one would do just fine.
And (more on topic), if you need more people, I'll gladly beta test for you. My address is jackson@df-21.net.

I haven't tested it yet; I just downloaded it. (I don't check my mail that often; usually only two or three times a week at most). I'll let you know tomorrow.

I tested it Saturday; I would have posted afterwards, but I was "stranded" offline.
...It is better than many "first" levels. Of course, there's easily tons of room for improvement, even while keeping in mind that what you sent was but a small fragment. A few friendly tips, to try to help you build a better level:- Make your arcitecture consistent. The poster you activate shouldn't have an invisible (and walk-through) back side. Either put the switch elsewhere, or make it a solid wall (and at least 1 DFU thick, if it's metal, and at least 8 DFU if it's stone).
- Stitching, Stitching! Make sure you pick textures that fit the wall (a large door uses a texture too small for it), and use WDFUSE's "stitching" tool, availible by hitting the F9 key.
- Combining stitching and consistency, try to make textures arround corners make sense. If your staircase uses one texture, make sure the texture used for the sides of the steps "matches".
- Realism. Most (if not all) of the better levels were largely the result of the author attempting to make sure there would be an answer when the player asked "why is this level built like this?". On occasion, "Because its cool" is an acceptable answer, assuming a nifty INF trick is involved. Speaking of INF...
- INF. It's one of your best friends, and is behind all the cool-looking scenes you see, such as the AT-AT in DT II: Nightfall, the parasites in Mystery at Ironfort, and the volcano in Mt. Kurek.
The above list should propel your level to a much higher level. I'm sure there are other important tips (such as using 3DOs and VUEs), but I'll leave you to work with these for now, as they are rather easy to learn, and don't require any programs outside WDFUSE.

You were a lot nicer than I was, NTK.
Plus, I sent my critique by PM.

Maybe I should do some mac testing for it.
Speaking of testing, my first level for the JC series is about ready to be tested. I'll post a request for testers when I have enough to have tested, but it's close to being finished. But until the rest of the series is complete, this will be the only level I will be releasing. Think of it as a teaser level . It should be ready to go by the end of the week.

If it just gets stuck at the loading screen, that shouldn't be a corrupt GOB. Anyway, I'll send the GOB that I have if you want it... But I would reccomend starting from scratch, as you'll notice your work will look a lot better than it did last time (I noticed this with my work, too.) Keep in mind my suggestions... And I would also reccomend playing virtually all of the 5-star levels here, and noting the techniques used. Just don't copy some of them, as we've decided to hold a few things in them them "sacred" (such as the tram in Prelude to Harkov's Defection).

Don't feel bad if you did lose it. You can always start over. I lost a big project that I had worked nearly a whole year on and I lost it because the GOB got corrupted when my computer froze. I lost 2556 sectors, and over 400 script INF entries, many new components I made, along with my sanity. I was able to save a somewhat older version, but it will be a while until I'm able to finish it. But for now, I've abandoned Spice Bust on Taloron until further notice.

Yeah I hate it when my .gob files get corupt, all that effort into nothing. Now, when ever I create a new room I make a back up. I had a small level once with 274 sectors and 289 back ups.

Umm....don't you think that's a bit excessive ?
I make a backup once about every 6 or 7 saves, depending on how much got done on the level, objects, or INF.
I got 1/6 of my JC project complete and I have about 3 backups.

I find, at least in post-production of some performances, that you should have 2 backups and another 2 on 2 different disks. But of course this isn't in DF it's in the sound engineering world. This also depends on the space required, which shoulden't be a problem with DF .gobs. That's just my professional opinion.

I usually try backing up after every session, or in other words, every day that I actualy edit. I like to have backups on my HDD, on CD, on floppy, on another's computer, stored online... The more, the better. You don't need 300+ backups, I just keep the last that ran perfectly. Since I've built up a goodly ammount of experience so far (I've been editing for some 2 years now), I rarely have errors that take more than 5 minutes to fix.

I had one edit a few years ago that took weeks to fix. I can't remember why though.

That brings back bad memories.
I remember spending almost a month trying to figure out why my mission (SBoT) wouldn't end, even if I had finished all the underlying objectives. It turns out that the problem was that I had too many mission objectives, so I had to condense a little.
