I think it funny that it got a 94 at Crows nest, yet only received three stars here. I think this should be given four. The architecture is nice and tight, no wasted room, enemies are placed well, that I had to turn supershield on to finish it as I didn't want to play it twice. It was a nice touch going down to the planet, so there was a change of pace and scenery, all in all a nice level, not shining but not bad at all either. I would suggest if you haven't played it yet, that you do.

Hell this is one of my favourite levels, it should get 5 stars.

Can someone actually change the ratings? I would make it at least a 4. For a first level, it was very well done.

Apparently, it now does have four stars!
Ah, this is perhaps the most innovative Pre-Kurek level, and one of the finest pieces of work of DF's first (second?) era.
The arcitecture, while somewhat simplistic, gets the job done well. The level is bright and almost cheery, which would normally be detrimental for DF, but works fine here. It conveys an adequate feeling of being a floating prison complex. The enemies add sufficient challenge, though it may geta bit bland.
However, the best part of the level is it's innovation. The concept must have completely blown the minds of all who heard it then... It's one of the first levels to make use of a custom .VUE file (if not the first), and is well-split into two very different sections. The jet pack was clever work, for both the plot and the level. Although Boba Fett normally detracts from a level, it wasn't a problem here, as the plot needed a good bounty hunter. This level is definitely a classic. We should have a seperate form of HoF for Pre-Kurek levels like this one... This is highly reccomended playing for all DFers who haven't experienced it yet.- Quality: 73%
- Atmosphere: 85%
- Innovation: 100%
- Gameplay: 80%
- Overall: 85%

I think it might be a idea (not necessarily a good one), to replace the asterisks with DF-21's death stars... Just a thought...

I liked the first section, but I gave up on the second part, trying to find the base. I was able to make it to the cliff above it, but I couldnt figure out how to get inside. A real pain, and I feel that if I could figure it out, I would really love the diversity of the level.

So where was the jetpack for this map? I couldn't locate it even with lacds.
Shame, I was enjoying it up until spending 20 mins going in circles in an empty level.

Jesus, it's been years, but it's definitely there, only it resembles the 'Kyle's Gear' fme.
Try opening it in WDFUSE.

I vaguely remember it being hidden in a vent-shaft, and to get to it you had to carefully scale the side of the prison without falling to get to it. Said area is outside the mess hall.

I just replayed this recently. It's an old favorite of mine, but I couldn't seem to remember how to get to the base once you're down on the planet. I got to the ledge overlooking the base where Kyle says "Now how to get down there?" and... well, I'm left wondering the same thing!
By the way, any level with a Captain Picard WAX is a winner in my book!

Once you collect your jetpack (which is your gear sprite from jabship) you go to that ledge and jump off. After you pick up your gear it master:on's the exterior sector so when you jump you transport onto the ground below instead of dying.

Sorry! It's been years since I played the level, and I don't have the time now, but I think it might be Boss related. Am I correct in remembering a gamorrean guard with kell dragon logics that must be killed to make progress?
